I’m an Artist

The beauty of time and growth. A year ago today I released my debut single “Funny Feelings.” This was one of the happiest moments in my life! I wrote and produced the song that paved the way for my Debut EP- Forbidden Fruit which I released earlier this year.

This artistic risk gave me a new sense of confidence in myself as a homosexual woman. It also enabled the idea behind “BeEverydayGay.” I was sick and tired of people placing me in a box because of my sexuality and I was sick of the stigma that had been placed on the word “Gay.”

Today, I’m reminded of just why I decided to be an artist. I write music because it helps me to clear my mind, I write poetry so I can dream, I rap to express myself, I sing to show my softer side, I blog to motivate and inspire others that all you have to do is believe in yourself. It doesn’t matter what walk of life you come from. All that matters is that you love yourself and believe in yourself and live life. Accolades, money, none of it matters. It’s ultimately about happiness!
