I recently read a quote that said,
“If you can’t be positive then be quiet.”
This stuck with me for a moment and that moment turned into day 2 and I found myself still thinking about that quote.
Now, it’s day 3 and as I sit here waiting for my coffee to finish steeping the true meaning of that quote is beginning to sink in.
Initially, I thought to myself why would I be quiet? The internal dialogue of negativity could still brew in my mind. Although this may be true, the reflection of that thought gives your mind time to view something or anything for this matter for what it could be and not necessarily what it is.
I could say, the weather is just terrible. But in all reality is the weather really terrible or am I just choosing to label it for my own sake?
Quieting the mind by silencing yourself gives you time to reflect before jumping to a momentary conclusion and this is truly a wonderful way to handle life’s curve balls when they’re flying at you from every possible angle.
I’ll leave you with this,
“There is no such thing as bad weather, only inappropriate clothing.” – Author Jerry S.
