Thankful for Emergencies

Yesterday, I spent most of my morning in the ER and if anyone doesn’t like hospitals, it’s this girl right here!

I was having hot flashes and dizzy spells on my train ride to work and ended up having to be rushed in. Of course we know what comes with this, oxygen mask, too many needles checking my vitals and that oh so ugly gown they make you wear. Definitely not how I wanted to start my day.

About 5 hours later (which is pretty decent for an ER visit, everything turned out to be ok. My sigh of relief was instant! I guess sometimes our bodies have their own agenda for making you slow down when you’re constantly on the go.

Lately, I’ve found myself stressed out about work and where I’m at in my life. Don’t get me wrong, I’m all about showing gratitude. However, the reality is I’m imperfect and sometimes I’m not always the best at stopping what I’m doing and giving thanks. BUT today I woke up feeling nothing but positive energy and for this I’m thankful and grateful!

I’m thankful for the smile that was on my face when I rose and that’s good enough for me. Life is too short, the ever so popular cliché, but it’s so very true and yesterday showed me just how true it is. We never know what’s coming our way so with that I  take this moment to give thanks!
